Little writer, big ideas.
Interests

It’s become a little tradition of mine, to review my artistic growth every April 1st, on the anniversary of the day I decided to dive into the rabbit hole and pursue the field of art…

I’m very happy to report that since my last post, I’ve been taking art classes every semester, and am one step closer to a degree in the fine arts. But more importantly, one step forward in developing my artistic skills. I’ve tried things I wouldn’t have tried on my own, developed a taste for the styles that I never liked before, and made friends in the feild. I have a portfolio now (a real artists portfolio!) and am working on an online place to display it.

There have been ups and downs. I entered a local art contest, and won. I submitted art to a state-wide show, and was turned down. I know that there will always be those with greater skills than me, but none of them have my ideas or inspirations. I’m learning to make the most of these people, and to study them closely.

Today I’ve entered and been accepted to my first art show at my community college; and not just for one piece, but for 4. Seeing them lined up perfectly on the wall, professionally framed by my own hands, feels… nice. Never thought I’d see the day, truthfully. :)

I want to say thank you to everyone here who’s been supportive over the last year! There’s too many to name, but I greatly appreciate your kind words! I don’t know what the next year holds, and I’m not about to set any goals… other than to keep growing.

And to keep going.
